I first became interested in agate hunting about a year ago when I moved to a town in the picturesque Rocky Mountains. Roaming the hillsides in search of precious stones teaches you to pay attention to small details that people wouldn’t normally notice. Sometimes it practically blows my mind that nature can be so simple in some ways and limitlessly complex in others.
Whether it’s because of superstition or simply a solid fashion choice, I prefer to wear my most elegant agate necklace when I’m searching for stones. I’ve learned to recognize agates for their stunning banded structure and their versatility. Agates can be used as a centerpiece or an accent in practically any type of jewelry – rings, earrings, necklaces and even bracelets.

In a recent blog, I mentioned that I finally got an eyeglass holder necklace because I kept forgetting where I left my glasses. Everyone who wears glasses knows that it would be easy to find your glasses – if only you had your glasses on! Sometimes you leave them in a predictable place, like on your nightstand or on the coffee table, but sometimes they end up in places you would never expect and they’re extra hard to find. With my new eyeglass holder necklace, I always know that my glasses are right there, ready for me to put on.
In choosing an eyeglass holder necklace, look for one that has rubber tips to fit any frames. That way, if you get new glasses, you can still use the same necklace. Look for a decorative, beaded necklace so it doubles as a piece of jewelry. You can choose a necklace with basic colored stones, like black, so that it matches every outfit, or choose several different colored necklaces to match according to different outfits. In the same vein, be sure to have one necklace for casual outfits and one that works with dressier clothes.
